The topic of this research blog would be the issues Mexican women endure during the immigration process. The lack of rights they have in the United States and how this problem puts them in danger when facing gender-based violence. We are aware of the issues Immigrants face regardless of their gender and country of origin, however, the purpose of this research is to shine a light on the lack of rights and resources Mexican women have when coming into the United States. Another consequence of the gender discrimination women have been facing since the dawn of times. Which leads us to our question; how do we help Mexican women in a country where the system doesn't protect those who haven't earned a place in their land?

I chose this topic because I am Mexican American and I have family that faced Immigration problems before. I just decided to focus the research on Mexican women because I could create a research through a feminist lens, which is a practice I firmly believe in.
